    Wb jigging 1/27

Arlen and I along with Robert and Kyle headed to the break in "bigger than forecasted, but not too bad" seas. Found warmer water near some ledges, and after no luck trolling plugs and being bored, decided to start jigging. First drop resulted in a very nice blackfin tuna, along with two scamp groupers. Subsequent drifts consisted of numerous ajs, along with about 8 total groupers, including a 40 inch gag. Another blackfin tuna got sharked and after 40 min, we had a 12 foot shark by the boat. Biggest aj of the day went to Chip, about 60 in fork length. I should have landed a big girl, but upon hooking her with a amj 54h and 35 lbs of drag, i could not lift the rod off the gunnel until I broke off.

Nice pics man, looks like an awesome day..

I'm hoping to get out soon and get after those blackfins with the jigs.

I can't beleive the size of the jig that blackfin went after. You think he was after the jig or just the hook with the squid skirt over it??? I looks like that Gag came on the same jig, looks like your on to something with that squid over the hook.

    Thanks for the post

Water was 73 degrees. Not sure if the octopus skirt was the key but it did seem to make a difference that day. The jig was a custom painted 400g broken arrow. It came from new zealand.

I heard it was some silly ass yankee who made 3 boats of people do it in NC after every fish was jigged up and the worst part is its a international epidemic now as the new trend even went to Panama

Do you know hoe odd it was trying to explain to 2 brazilians that they had to do it
