I have wanted to go the the dry tortugas for a while.

So whats the real deal ?
Ya talk about fishing the best 3 days but leaving the dock
after 8pm Monday and returning before 2pm friday.
Are we leaving Monday night and returning Friday afternoon
or are there some other optional days that I have to be around for?
When exactly do I have to be there ?
If I fly into Key west Monday will I be on the boat till
Friday or do I need to get a room for lay days ?
    Whats the story ?

    How big is the boat.
More questions to follow if you answer these.
from talking to willy a bit, i may be able to help until he seens this.

I think the plan is to fish 3 out of those 5 days - whatever looks best based on weather, but as that'll be a last minute decision, people will need to be in the area all 5 days (or plan to be at least). I believe the capt will allow guys to stay on the boat while in port if need be so i dont think a hotel is needed.

    Thanks.
Checked out air fare to Key west from Philly.
    About $200-$250 round trip.
No car or room needed ya can't beat that.
I think I want to do this.
Maybe as people get interested get some input as to gear
to bring. Need to know if I have the right stuff.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay--have been busy on the boat but this info should fill in the missing pieces:

We will leave sometime after 8PM Monday and will be back to the dock by 2PM Friday. The typical 3-day leaves at 10PM and returns at 2PM on the third day (say, if you leave at 10pm on monday, you're back at the dock by 2pm on thursday). So, we'll be able to adjust to make sure we get the best weather possible. You should come into Key West during the day/afternoon on Monday and expect to leave sometime late afternoon/evening on Friday. You can stay on the boat free of charge any night we are not sailing--except friday night, I expect, because Greg will probably have a trip sailing at 10pm.

The trip is limited to 15 people, and costs $600, food included. A $250 deposit is required by October 1. Please send checks to:

    Yankee Capts Offshore Fishing
    PO Box 2157
    Key West Fl, 33045

Indicate that the check is for "Willy G's charter"

Here is a report from a trip I made last March that inspired this charter:

Some general info about the boat can be found at www.yankeecapts.com. Feel free to e-mail capt. Greg with additional questions: greg@yankeecapts.com. Please post here if you are interested in committing to the trip or have more questions!

The next bite on a jig.
Ha. I was going to fish that march 15 day with you and Z, but it was the first day of my new job and couldn't get over. In hindsight, I should have said F--- the job, but it too late now. My only hope is that they will fire me so I can come home. Otherwise I'm locked into a contract for another 13 months (and counting down).

I could be sitting on my ass collecting obama money if I had gone fishing that day, but instead I'm worked half to death right now.

At least I see a scamp on the potroast in one of those first pictures from Fl.

    Just a good old-fashioned BUMP!

Also, it looks like our trip will be featured in the new magazine "JIGGING AND POPPING THE WORLD," if that provides any additional incentive! http://www.jandptheworld.com/SUBSCRIBE_9ZOC.php

Please post here with any questions or if you can commit to the trip!
