If you search around you can find some people that would make you a mold of any jig you want, it's pretty expensive though.

You could also make your own mold with a rtv silicone. Check out this thread bf jig molds

Honestly, I dont want to say not to go make stuff yourself but when you factor in the mold cost, raw material and time involved plus trying to get a good paint job on them and compare it to Eastern Tackles offering for jigs ... you cant compare cost, fit or finish IMHO

For $10-$15 dollars you have a proffesionally finished jig that works excellent and doesnt break the bank.

    just my 2 cents

The next bite on a jig.
Thanks Glen, I try. I might even have some pics of some new stuff down at jigfest that you guys will find spectacular. Lets just say its going to be a good summer.

I like to make my own fishing stuff, especially witches. But I have found that I will never match what the little guys do in the orient with jigs. I have tried a little.

Shoot, the Australian windons I have are so nice, I have quit doing my own windons. Just not worth it anymore, when what I can get pre-made, are so much better than I can do myself.

So many jigs, So little time. Homemade is best left for pies and liquor in my humble opinion.

But I do hope that guys will put up pics of some of their creations.

I agree, hard to beat Jim's quality and prices. I do like to make a lot of my own fishing rigs, it gives me something to do when not fishing. I also thik that it helps me get better in other areas like knot tieing. But' when it comes to jigs I think my time and money are better spent buying.

Like Jim said I do look forward to seeing some of the home made jigs. There is a satisfaction catching something on your own creation.

For about a $100 you could buy a lead pot, some ss wire and enough rtv silicone to make 4 or so molds. You can easily find lead for free. There's alot of nice cheap jigs out there but you could make hundreds of jigs for the price of 10-15 ET jigs.

I pretty much make all my tackle and i design my lures around how i fish, do you think any of the jig companies would do customs?
