    Triggers, Sandtiles and B-liners

Capt Darryl and I took the www.bluewaterladycharters.com out for the day on Sunday. We had my Dad and Daughter out for a family day, since we missed our annual fathers day outing, I thought it might be nice to just do a fun day with the Capt, since all the fishing we had ever done together was charter and commercial. Never just a rec trip.

We spent about 15 minutes looking for bailer dolphin in the morning, then decided if we found them later in the day we would go for it. But only if the opportunity presented itself. From what we heard on the radio, it never got good like it had been on Saturday. I'm glad we moved on.

Went out the reef and the water was hot-hot. 85 or something I think. Lots of toothy critters there, so we put out the high speed stuff and went to another mark I had. There was too much current there, so the high speed went back out and we pushed south.

Luckily we were able to get out of the current the further south we went. We check a few spots on the break and they were loaded with Triggers, Big Sandtiles and B-liners. Using First Drop jigs and bait, we filled the coffin box half full.

Great day to be out. It was a little different day of species that I normally target, but it was great to see Darryl off the bridge and fishing. Sorry for the lack of pics, I was busy trying to give D a run for the money.

Glad to see you made it back out on the water Jim. Sorry I didn't respond to your last PM...pretty busy down here. I'll give you a ring after I get back to the dirty on Tuesday.

Brought a cubrera close to 50 into the boat the other day...a friend new to the fishing game hooked it, but chose to pass the rod to me out of fear of breaking the rod/losing it/falling in. This thing was a tank! Will post up a report soon.

Hammered first drops have been working well.

Yes, a tipped jig is very effective. Sometimes its what they want over straight bait.
