    Topwater AJ's

Took my bay boat out today with my friend Chuckie. Got him on his amberjacks. Needless to say.... HES HOOKED. They seemed to respond only to poppers and not the jigs. BTW AJ's on topwater..... 10x more fun than on a jig. Nothin like seeing 10 crash on a popper . After chuckie got enough AJ's to turn his arms into slush we came back to the cape and caught our limit of spanish in about an hour.

Sounds like a blast. How long can you typically keep them interested in the topwaters?

Pretty work Caleb.... I agree, in my book there is very little fishing as fun as top-water AJ's. Its like a stick of dynamite exploding on your popper!

in the shallow ar's here , 54ft deep or so, once you stir up the herd on that particular wreck, they will stay up and kill the topwater til you're bored.

i have seen them shut off from topwaters if someone flips out a live bait to em.
