Testing out new gear.

Well I'm heading out tomorrow hopefully it will end up with a nice report.

Testing out my new Saltiga 40 from my wife, and my new JM350 and JM power handle from me (Thanks Ksong).

I hope to chip some paint off the new jigs (Katana) I got from Sea Draggin (Thanks Sea Draggin)

My friend got 14 gag grouper in 10 - 25 lbs with JM Power Spell 350g rod in NC recently. I hope you catch big grouper tomorrow.
If you target grouper, make sure you use 100 - 150 lbs leaderline.

Mike, if you lose a nice grouper on 100 lbs leader line like I did, you don't question it.

We made it out today. I love the new gear everthing works and feels great.

No love for me from the Grouper or Red Snapper today, I did scrape up a few Black Sea Bass. My son and partner did pretty well on cut bait.

I use a 8 foot 130lb wind-on leader.

I posted a full report in Box's World.

I'm looking forward to the nex trip out already.

I guess 350g rod with 130 lbs leader line is a little bit heavy for 13" seabass.
Some give impression that they can catch grouper on jigs at will, but I always have had hard time to get grouper on jig in NC though I caught my share of grouper on jigs.
The only way you get grouper on jigs is to keep jigging.
My friend used the 350g JM rod for grouper with cut bait.
