I've got a 200 gm conventional. Whipped a 15# red with it last weekend like he was a pinfish. I am really happy with it. A pleasure to fish with....so glad I went that route rather than get another Trevala.

    Ken,

Nice rods. I am thinking about getting the 4'10" 400g rod for some AJ jigging down there in NC. In fact today a buddy of mine invited me to take a trip on your boat in July :-)

Would be great to have you out TY, I've seen the Pic's of your last trip down look like you had alot of fun..Give me a shout anytime and we'll set you guys right up.. July is a good Month most of the fishing is no further than 45nm and as close as 25nm..The Gulfstream out of Atlantic Beach/Morehead city is pretty close 35nm or so and theres plenty of wrecks and good bottom to fish..Later Ken

    Ken,

    Thanks for the kind words.
Indeed I did have a great time down there. It was the best fishing trip I have ever had up to that point. You have a wonderful fishery there.

Have you used your Riley Rod yet? You know of any YouTube videos of those rods in action?

So far my jigging rod experience includes the Hopper 600g 5'8", BareFoot 400g 4'10", BareFoot 250g 5'3", and OTI 600g 5'6".

How would the RileyRod Thor Thunder compare to those rods? I would imagine someone between the Hopper and OTI considering the price point. I am interested in getting the Thor Thunder 400g 4'10" with a Fuji PSS reel seat. I wonder how that action compare to the BareFoot 400g 4'10" rod, since the BareFoot 400g is the only 400g 4'10" rod I have used (I really like that length of rod and PSS reel seat).

    See ya in July!!

    Ty
