    Swell Rider Report..03/31 Lock&Load!!!

All I can say is WOW!!! We hit the Inlet around 5am alittle later than I wanted to but since this was a Commercial Sea Bass trip and the run was pretty short alittle extra sleep couldn't hurt. Couldn't ask for a better run out light winds and a beautiful sunrise, got on the grounds shortly before the sun came up and began the hunt..There was a big temp break in the area I was going to start working so I was sure the Bass would be piled up on the cool side. Made our first drop at sunrise and it was game on..The 7.5 Hammered Diamond jig was the ticket and it was all the Big Bass you wanted. We mixed it up through out the day with bait and jigs but the action on that flat sided HD jig had the bass going all day long..Tried poking around on the warm side of the break but the bass wanted no part of that 68 degree water what we did find were Gags but they'll live to see anorther Days since the commercial season is closed. Could'nt have asked for a better day even though the wind picked up pretty good out of the East and who could complain when the boats loaded...Ken

That 7.5 jig is the money. The most versatile all-around jig I know of. Puts some meat in their freezer for sure.

    Good trip Ken.

Nice report Ken. Glad you got out, and looks like it was a nice day on the water. Hopefully I can get out there soon.

Thanks...It's been one hell of a Sea Bass season this winter but now it's Grouper time...Between the Charters and the commercial Trips it's going to be a very busy year looking foward to it..Ken
