    STRADIC 8000FI VS SARAGOSA 8000F

    Is there any major differences besides the drags and the spool in in these. i believe the saragosa has the dartanium drags and the cold forged aluminum spool. And are these differences a reason to choose between the two? the stradic is rated at 29# drag and the saragosa is at 27# drag. thinking of pairing these with star stellar ligth 6'4" mh jigging rods. vertical jigging is not my only desire, but these would work well for other applications (i.e. cobia casting, bailing mahi, bull red drum fishing,etc...) i am also planning on loading them with 50-65# braid either pp,saltiga or samurai braid.
    thanks, Casey

    the stradic has the worm gear oscillation where as the saragosa has the classic piston oscillation. im not sure why the drag ratings are different but i think the sustain/stradic fi's are hard to beat for the money. The spool will hold the same amount of line on the two also. plus the stradic is lighter

    Thanks for the specs, but i have already seen them, i was looking for a little more technical or hands on experience and comparison of the two. Is there really much of a difference?

    I have both the stradic and the saragosa. The stradic will not handle offshore jigging long term. I just got the saragosa a couple weeks ago and will be taking it out on May 7th tuna/aj jigging. I can let you know more personally then. I have read many reports of the saragosa catching many tuna/ajs and even 100+ blue fin tuna. I love my stradics for inshore fishing though. They put a woopin on a 50" red drum, the do great on sea bass and tile fish too, but not hard crankin, hard long running offshore fish.

    Stradic= anything under 40 lbs
    Saragosa= anything under 100 lbs
    Stella= anything

    Hope this helps

    P.S. These are my opinions so don't hate!

    anders, is that the new stradic fi that you have or is it one of the older ones. i have a couble of the older stradic 8000 and have the same problems, but i was just wondering if the newer ones are just a step above (i.e. more comparable to older model sustains). Thanks

    thanks a bunch. answered my questions. I was planning to have them mainly for drum and cobia, but for the rare ocassion that i go jigging for blackfin or bail dolphin i think it will do.

    the stradic 8000 has the same drive train as the sustain 8000. the saragosa 8000 has the same drive train as the spheros 8000. that says alot. the bigger saragosas(14k/18k) have a different drive train with the worm gear oscillation. a much better design.
    The only differences in the sustain and the stradic are the spool being ported and titanium lip, and a ball bearing in the spool. other than that the schematics are the same. I trust my stradic 8000 on reasonable fish. but not 60+ pound yft!
