    Stella 20000

Okay, so i received my new Stella 20000 today to match up with my Jigging Master rod. I can't wait to go fishing to say the least. My question is about the bail. If you open the bail you have to manually close it. It won't close by cranking the handle. Is this a "Stella" thing or is there something wrong with my new reel. Thanks

You have to manually close the bail on Stella 20000's. Nothing is messed up on your reel.

Does anybody know why they decided to do this? Also, does it do any harm turning it while the bail is open? I know we've all done it before...

I understand this concept, and it's what I would have guessed... but I've never seen that part/action break on a reel before.

The only small drawback I see with this is when dropping the jig, make sure you pinch the braid so you can feel the hit, then raise the rod up and close the bail as you lower the rod!!
