    Stella 10K Drag?

I just got a 10K to match up to a 100 Black Devil for gulf tuna. I popped it open and the drag stack is not readily accessable. Are you guys servicing these before using?

    I have never mentioned that

It looks like the fortress of solitude under the thumb cap.
I just put it back together without touching it. Looks like a job for Alan Tani. I'll just wait until it needs service and send it in.

What are the hot spots on these that need attention? Maybe other than the line roller.

You need to take a small section of pvc tubing and cut notches into it to fit that nut. You should beable to back it off with that and access the washers. Personnally I fished stellas out of the box for a long time before messing with them.

Dude, open up the box, put line on it, and go. That's it. Seriously.

Fill in the registration card and they'll send you coupons for free servicing. Once a year use a coupon and send it in and let them give it a once over. Other than that just spray it down with fresh water after you use it and that's about all you'll ever need to do with it. If you put it through some heavy use throw a drop (one drop only) of the lube it comes with in the access port on the body and one on the roller bearing. Done and done.
