    Star Rod?

Alright got to buy new jigging rod and have read more on this than I can ever retain. Has anybody tried the new star jigging rod and if so how does it compare to oti in guides and reel seat and feel?

I do the 100'-600' Carolina coast thing ( AJs, grouper, etc). Don't really want to spend more than $300, but would love a good stick to beat these fish with.

Thanks ahead of time for your help.

There are WAY better options than the star jigging rod. I heard the star was built from a shakespeare uglystick blank. Can't confirm though. I just don't like the star jigging rods either.

For under $300 there are tons of options. You can get a custom rod from Riley Rods or JPR. You could get a trevala or the saltiga jigging rod. All of which are TONS better than the star IMHO

Question answered and rod quest is over. Thanks to everything that has been said here and in past post I feel good about what I went with. The answer to my quest will be a custom made from JPR. Thanks Paul for your help and advise, can't wait.
