Slim Beauty

I think I have finally found a knot that I can tie quickly and tests out pretty good.

I just can't get a PR knot to work for me and I wanted an alternative to windons.

Great knot use it all of the time, just with an overhand knot on the leader side, cinched down properly it will not let you down

Thats good stuff. I was playing with the turns yesterday. I was doing all kinds of combos, but with double.

I did see one video that showed a single line. They also did several wrap under the loop. What are your thoughts regarding that method?

This one also just seems to have the overhand knot like Andy talked about.

Tonight I pulled out the scale. 80lb solid braid(old green leftover Sufix Herculine) and 100lb momoi.

With a single strand of braid, overhand knot, 8 up : 11 down - I got 42lbs pretty consistently. The break occured everytime on the braid inside the overhand knot.

So I did a little 12 turn bimini in the braid and used the double line, overhand knot, 4 up and 6 down. It maxed out my 50lb hand scale. Much better results.

The overhand knot is much smaller and cleaner than the figure 8 method. But to be comfortable especially on the big AJ's that will be here next month I will either go to a hollow core splice or the S.B. using a small bimini.
