    Shark on a Jig Video

OK well Im sure you all watched the Shoefish video, this one is nothing like that ... its just straight fight time on that larger shark I caught on a jig two weeks ago estimated every bit of 400#.

No frills, no editing minus erasing some underwater video that took up time. I would say in total it was about 15 minutes of fighting and how it didnt break off still amazes me

This video is about 13 minutes we were lucky enough that Andy (Anuvat) just happened to record from hookup to release.

YES I am speaking to the fish the whole time ... Im weird I know and keep in mind this shark was caught after jigging all day at about 3:30pm. I was delirious

Nie vid Glenn, I like the no frills video. Chip just has to get rid of that country music in the background.

Thanks guys exceptional in its own way I guess ... I've never caught a shark of that size on a jig before but I rathered it was a massive amberjack. I've tournament shark fished for several years and catching one of this size on that gear with fluro was an experience that I hope I never duplicate again LOL

I fought that fish with over 25 pounds of drag most of that fight and hearing that 100 pound braid ting through the guides at times was scary lol

Nice! Great crew on board for for memorable day. After all the adrenaline got back to normal levels, what do you estimate the overall length and weight?

The shark was 9-10' to the fork, it looked longer because of how big a dusky's tail is. If your not a sharker its easy to get caught up in how big they look. If I had to put a number on her conservatively 375-400 but that is being conservative. The head and shoulders were absolutely enormous

Im a sharker first so Im great at weight estimates as we tournament fish for Makos and threshers. I feel that the dusky is a much beefier blue shark and we have seen blue sharks in the 9-10' fork range go way over 400

so my honest estimation after all said and done is about 400 give or take a few either way.

One way or the other that was a stud. Makes one wonder what the upside potential of your relatively "medium action" gear would be.....
