they claim to get 44# of drag i think
you should get well over 300yds of PE on it
i was just playing with one last week
very nice
IF
you arent getting the stella

MOST reports have been good
but with everything not "all" good reports
it is probably on of the better choices in mid price range

I have one that I bought and brought down here to T&C. It is awesome and $400.00 cheaper than the Stella. I tried the drag on a scale and got 47lbs. I haven't even tried it jigging yet because I'm waiting on a new transducer for the boat, but I've been using it for big sharks, groupers, etc. with very good results. I have a friend back in the states who has 4 of them that he uses strictly jigging for snowys and he loves them also.

If fishing for a couple times of year than I think it is a good choice. But if you jig many times a year I would cough up the extra dough and get the stella. My buddy just picked up a 20000 stella for $540 from a Florida store.

I'm planning on buying some more reels when I come back home in 2 weeks. We're gonna be doing a lot of deep jigging when I get back. Why should I buy the Stella over some more Saragosas?

Hey capt John thanks you just pushed me over the edge
I think these reels are like a Toirum just a scaled down version no frills the same engineering makeup, as there big brothers Trinidads and Stellas.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with sarragosas but the stellas have better gearing and are proven reels. I believe and may be wrong, that over time the gearing in the sarrgosa is not going to hold up. Also the drag is good but not as good as stella. I saw report from Kilsong stating that he just about smoked his drag on big BFT. I have not tested this reel personally, but knowing other models of shimano well, they just do not hold up over continual use. Even the stellas need to be sent back for reconditioning after alot of abuse. I've jigged BFT over 8 times in the last month and half, and have persoally destroyed my accurate reel, and my Saltiga 6500 is holding up fine. Point being that they get tweaked after fighting multiple 100+lb BFT
