    saltiga 30 vs 30t

What is the preference around the site? I know the 30T has a slightly lower gear ratio, but both pickup about the same amount of line per turn. The 30T is much heavier than the 30 and was wondering why?

Saltiga 15, 20 and 30 are built off the same platform with the only difference is spool width. These reels are considered 2/0 size reels.

The Saltiga 30T, 40, and 50 are all built from the same platform and again, the only difference is spool width. These reels are considered 3/0 size reels.

Preference is 30t for jigging and bottom bouncing.

I'll bet if they called it a 40N, the sales would double.

    I love my 30T.

Gotcha, thanks! I have a chance to pick up a 30 brand new in the box for $285. I wonder if a store would let me exchange it for the 30T...maybe worth checking into.

Hope they don't ask for a receipt. Places in my area won't let anyone return/exchange items unless they have proof of purchase.

Actually, I think I am going to look for a 40. I have a couple accurate 270's that I use. I think the 40 might be better for the 350g Jaws evolution rod I am going to build. I just had the opportunity on the 30. I don't need it right now as I haven't even finished the rod just yet. Thanks for the info though fellas.

    Mitch,
Don't pass up the 30T, you will regret it later.

Between my Expedition and 30T on Saturday, I was in good shape. You can get the 40 later and should only need that if you plan on deep dropping to 850'.

If it was the 30T I would pull the trigger. Its just the regular 30. I would prefer the narrower spool of the 30T (as I understand the above info). If I knew I could exchange the 30 for a 30T I would. I can't even find the 30T around here though. Anyone know who carries them between greenville, goldsboro, new bern, and morehead?

I might be able to get you one or the 40. I'll get the number and call about it tomorrow. There are a few others wanting reels as well, so I'll get on it. I worked out deal at the show. Lets see if its for real. Should be good pricing.
