Rod for Daiwa 30T
For dropping 200-300g jigs in 150-300ft of water, what rod would you match up to a 30T with 80lb PE?

Great choice of reel Jim. I fish my saltiga 40 (slightly bigger than the 30T, bu same guts) on a 6'6" 40 lb calstar graphiter blank with a long butt. 8 oz total rod weight, tremendous sensitivity and power. I bottom fish and jig heavy (200 gr or more) with it.
Finrazor Mike and I designed it and his company builds it. Good luck with your decision. SeaBiscuit |

Jim, I am going to Mike (no excuses) house tomorrow to look at some blanks. I will see what he has. I am looking for a new rod to put the Trini 40n on to do the same thing you are thinking.

I'd be interested to see that Diawa rod. They didn't list the gram raiting where I was looking.
What you doing this Friday?

Ouuuuch. I know what that means. I'm going to be missing out on groupers and snappers and big AJ's.
Anyway, I will be seeing Ann off to Kiawah on Friday, then Kelsey off to missions trip on Saturday, then I have to go to Kiawah on Wednesday, then back to get Kelsey the following weekend. Anyway, I'm wrapped up right now for the next two weekends. But my tackle will be straight, the next time I go. I'd better have my new samples by then also, or I will be one PO'd white boy. I'm going to be scared to put the green one in the new glow on the boat. The fish will be jumping into the boat to get at it. We will give that one to Pete, he's young and strong.
