    rigging wore trace

    Hello,

I keep getting cut offs from KM's i trying to figure out how to rig a wire trace without effecting the action of the jig. I went to the Shimano website and the video shows them tying Tyger wire to fluro. Any have any suggestions what to use or know a youtube clip i can watch and learn. Thank you

The next bite on a jig.
    JTL,
I think most will recommeded heavier mono, before wire.

If you try it out, please report back.

    Thanks

    wire trace

I bought some malin boa wire and and trying out different knots but the don't set tight. Anyone had any experience with this or tyger wire? I thinking of braid uni uni to fluro albright to wire and a clinch to jig.

I am new to jigging but have experienced the same problem with Wahoo cutting off my jigs. What I have done but not tried yet is to rig a 6 inch trace of 90lb silver American Fishing Wire multi strand. I did the connection with the sleeves/crimps to a small swivel then to the floro carbon leader. I also made up a stinger hook using the wire.

My experience with the Tyger/BOA wire has not been that good, only tried it twice using the knot recommended on the package and both times I broke the wire. Got gun shy after that.

JTL..you may want to check out an old friend in Cali..Garry Sato..he makes crimps for spectra to mono and the tools to do so..here is his website..heck of a nice guy and did his homework on his products.

There is a section on his site in a "pdf file" called "soft steel lines" which shows the crimp size to use by #test for a "soft steel" to spectra connection.

you can actually call Garry and talk to him..I own his line winder which was purchased to use on the boat for tournaments if needed.

    out...
