revive old jigs
I have alots of jigs that need a new shine, how can I give them a shiny almost new look?

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
chrome type jigs ? try a chrome cleaner w/ a rag.
if paint is what you wanna re-furbish, you can get tubs of the powder coat paint really cheap from basspro/cabelas.
all you do is hit the jig with a heat gun (or torch) lightly (dont overheat), dip it in the power and bingo, you got a powder coated jig.

fisherman reflective jig tape is the key!! or any model reflective tape. i find most of my beat up jigs catch more fish than the brand new ones anyway.http://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/p...sheet-set.html

Andrew that is what I do also. You can find some on ebay also.

Aluminum HVAC tape combined with strips of reflective color tape does good. I use it a lot on prototypes.

Does anyone know a good source for the type of foil or tape used on speed jigs such as the Butterfly?
I have a bunch of these jigs that could use a facelift.

Thanks George,
I assume you are using the holoform reflector tape.
I have used the others (paper based) and they get pretty mangled by the toothies even when using gloss over the tape.
This has been a rough fall for finding a weather window hasn't it?
What style jigs are using on the grouper these days?
Matt
