I don't keep any pelagics if I think there is any chance they can survive. So I am always looking for ways to end the battle quickly and get the fish on its way. The other day I saw a tuna show with some guys who were catching and tagging tuna. They used a small harpoon to puncture through the tunas entire body and get him on a rope. They then tagged it and let it go. Anyone know if this is a legit method. I don't see how the tuna can survive but I don't think they would be tagging if it didn't I'd like to hear your thoughts on this and any ideas on the best way to boat and release a tuna if you are fishing alone.
