    Paul,
    Thanks for the other help. Just lookin around and caught this thread. The only problem I have with metal reel seats is the galvanic corosion. I have two tiny pits on my metal reel seats and now I tape it during the season and occasionally take the reels off and inspect. I agree that they are a little more maintainance. Graphite I like on my lighter stuff.

    hey no problem, always willing to help

    so far i have heard more metal seat failures .than composite
    different reasons, but mostly something to do with the threads or corrision
    i am still looking for input on reelseats breaking/ failure
