Quantum Cabo pt 16 star drag

Anyone use this reel for jigging? How does it hold up? It looks pretty strong for the money.

I found a Quantam Boca on the cheap last year and bought it to use jigging. It lasted 3 trips and never got abused too bad. I don't know how similar the guts are between the two reels but I will be replacing it with a Shimano Saragosa.

Quantum Cabo PT 16 star drag is a conventional reel not a spinner.

Ooops.... should have read the whole title.

Yeah, never heard anything about that reel. I will say that overall, I was not too impressed with the Boca, but you usually get what you pay for when it comes to reels.

Get the Fin-Nor OFC16L instead. Better gear ratio and greater drag capability. The Fin-Nor OFC and Quantum 16 are the same reel with a different paint job.

WLB, Does the Fin Nor have good freespool @ max drag? Do the drag washers need to be changed to carbontex? Thanks

The OFC16L is a star drag therefore the freespool thing at max drag is not an issue. It could be an issue on lever drag reels. I recommend the carbontex, it is a cheap upgrade that works wonders. The saltiga 30T washers fit the OFC16L
