    Possible NC AJ record?

Saw this on another site and I think the record fell yesterday.

here is the report as it was on ncwaterman.com +

BTW I had my username changed to Deep_Drop1 so that it was the same on all of the fishing sites that I use. My old username was Tunachaser.

Left out of Bogue at 6 on the Deuces Wild with Mike Krantz, his father Ron and myself. (Andy D.) We started off nicely as we boated a Wahoo and a few Blackfins in no time at all. Then it started to get a little slow so we decided to do a little jigging. On our first drop I ended up with a average Gag and Mike and Ron both fought AJ's. So we got back out the trolling gear and steady picked at the Blackfins then we saw a school of them busting the surface so we packed up the trolling gear and got the jigs out as we wanted to catch a tuna on a jig. So Mike drops first and is fighting a big fish, now his dad Ron is hooked up and fighting an AJ. I pulled my jig in so that I could assist in releasing Ron's fish. Now we are razzing Mike a little because he is taking a little longer than usual. We were soon to understand why he took so long. Thirty minutes later it emerges from the deep, a big ole AJ. We knew it was at least a citation so we boated it. We continued fishing and catching Blackfins and then we called it a day. As we made the ride into Dudley's we were guessing at what the fish would weigh and if it would even be close to the State Record. We arrive at Dudley's and weight the fish, the AJ weighed in at 126.5, what do you know, a New State Record has been set. The fish might have gone 135 if we would of had ice to put on. (as we did not due to the fish box being full of meat fish). We are high fiving at this point and Mike is filling out paperwork. While we were there I saw quite a few Wahoo coming in and getting weighed for citations. All in all it was a great day and still would of been a great day even if Mike had not set a NEW NC STATE AJ RECORD!!! I would like to be the first to congradulate you on your new record my friend.

    Till next time,

    Andy D.

Wow that is awsome. I don't know for sure if I would want to hook that beast. I'm sure he put a hurtin on the angler.

    Nice one.

The only one I've ever hooked was around 60-70 lb. I remember it trying to eat a mackeral we were bringing in.

Of course it got off because I was using a small reel with about 12 lb test mono.

Unfortunately after it was weighed on a certified scale it could not be revived...
