Thanks for all the congratulations. I'm the skinny one with the big fish. I was using a shimano trevala 5'6'' rod xxh weight, with a shimano spheros 18000 reel. The reel is pretty much shot now though. I had on 80lb test with 100lb flouro leader and was using a williamson abyss 9oz jig. Not sure what the drag capacity was on the reel, I think shimano says its 20lbs locked down. I never checked it with a scale. I did have the thing as tight as I could get it, and even added a little hand drag at the end. The fish hit in about 80' then booked it to 350'. After that it was back and forth for what felt like forever.
