    My comments about reels.

I think there are a lot option for you, since you want conventional. I think a 50 is too big/heavy for jigging, but a 40N would be better. There are also saltiga 40, JM pe 4 or alutecnos 12.

There are so many rods out now, that I almost don't know where to start with stock rods. OTI, JM? What are other options

for a heavy setup i was tempted by the JM PE8 reel. w/ 100 or 120lb hollow on it.

Kil's new 450g cape cod special is pretty BA. i was going to get a 600g custom w/ the PE8 as my heavy set up. ive decided to make it more fun and build a spinning w/ a stella 20k on it.

if you are looking for rediculous line capacity im really only familiar with Shimano reels. the torsa 40 is ok, no idea what the max drag setting is. the trinidad 40 or 50 would hold a lot of 100/120lb w/ a realistic 35lb of drag probably.

ill let all the cool kids talk about all the exotic reels.

a 450g CC SPL or a JM 600g rod w/ a PE8 reel could do some serious damage.
