Here's a 40# ling cod I jigged last year.
I've only been out fishing once this year but managed to hook about 1/2 dozen lings and 1/2 dozen yellow eye rock fish. The bummer was, in the waters we were fishing ling season hadn't opened, and you are only allowed one yellow eye ![]() Ling season opens today, and I should be fixing the lack of fishing over the next several weeks. |

That is a mean looking fish. I'll bet it would eat your finger given the chance.

It's a big toothy head with a body attached
I know I have a picture of a lings mouth some place. I went fishing last friday and for the life of me still can't manage to hook a halibut. But we didn't do too bad for the day, 2 ling cod, 2 copper rock fish, 4 yellow eye rock fish, and 15 silver salmon. We were too intent on fishing to take pictures. We filled up a 150 qt cooler, so that makes for a good day of fishing. Here's a yellow eye brought up on a jig last year |
