Here's a 40# ling cod I jigged last year.

I've only been out fishing once this year but managed to hook about 1/2 dozen lings and 1/2 dozen yellow eye rock fish. The bummer was, in the waters we were fishing ling season hadn't opened, and you are only allowed one yellow eye

Ling season opens today, and I should be fixing the lack of fishing over the next several weeks.

Best Catch: The next bite on a jig.
That is a mean looking fish. I'll bet it would eat your finger given the chance.

It's a big toothy head with a body attached

I know I have a picture of a lings mouth some place.

I went fishing last friday and for the life of me still can't manage to hook a halibut. But we didn't do too bad for the day, 2 ling cod, 2 copper rock fish, 4 yellow eye rock fish, and 15 silver salmon. We were too intent on fishing to take pictures. We filled up a 150 qt cooler, so that makes for a good day of fishing.

Here's a yellow eye brought up on a jig last year
