once i started changing my closing method from the half hitches to the "nail knot" version as I refer to it, the knot became quicker and simpler. personally i never liked the half hitches - they worked fine, but just took longer and i ended up forgetting if i was going over/under .

im using some streamline leaders this weekend - half with a bimini loop and half with triple surgeons. i have no doubt they'll hold, and assuming there are no issues with the triple surgeon's, very quick to put on. we'll see how it is to remove I suppose.
Triple surgeons works perfect most of my bluefin were with that knot. There will always be a situation where a PR knot will work. I use Streamline leaders most of the time but I dont mind using a PR for jigging. They never fail period

I tested double surgeon knot and it slipped. If I have to use surgeon knot, it has to at least 4 -5 turns, but it becomes too bulky.

loop to loop connection is the most stongest line connection, but PR knots and Mid Knot will still be used by many as the knots are proven knots and pretty easy to make them.
I can tie Mid Knot on a boat in a few minutes for any weather condition.

Then I do 5-6 half hitches grab my gloves and tighten down completely again. Cut my mono, burn the tag end, do more half hitches and tighten down with gloves one more final time. This makes the line really bite and totally prevents any and all sliding at end

    Great video Josh
Right on the money Glenn!, the key to tying a good PR knot is keeping everything tight
