Haha. It was definitely a trip for the record books for us. The guys who asked me if they could jig with mono came over and got a few jigs from me. He put it on an 80w with braid and hooked up in about 5 minutes and landed the fish. he hadnt had a bite all day. You gotta love the effectiveness of the jig!!!

    What's next? A giant perhaps?

We feel very fortunate to do what we did Nick. Id love to try my hand at a giant. In my opinion there would be a much better outcome than people might think with the tackle being so light. There is only one way to find out though!

I have to give it to Chip,he tells me a week or two ago that these fish are there and is confident we can put the crew on them and all be damned if he didn't deliver.Oh and catching a fish that weighs as much as you do on a jig and a 5'2 jigging rod in under 20 minutes thats pretty bad ass.

Its been that way here in NJ for the last 3-4 years. We had days where we were the only boat drifting on a lump and had 10+ trollers around us not catching a thing, and there already be 1 bft in the box and how many released. One day we were called "a bunch of kids yanking our rods really fast in a dingy" on the radio. Now last year that all changed and you see a bunch of guys up and downing a jig off the bow while the rest chunked.
