Opinions on the best Gloves for jigging?

I see most of the hard core jiggers use gloves. What types / brands are there and which is best and why? Thanks.

well i dont know about 'jigging gloves' but when it comes to 'wiring' gloves, you cannot beat a pair of welding gloves. They will withstand 10x what those trendy 80 dollar aftco's will, and they are 9.99 at home depot. Welding gloves offer awesome protection, and can slide off if need be. * i know it may be off your topic, but just some of my advice glove wise.

I like to wearing diving gloves over the so call fishing gloves. They seem to fit much better.

I saw that Pelagic has a couple of types of glove models as well.

I really think it's personal preference with gloves. But I do think people should buy more than one pair when going on overnighters as fish slime and constantly being soaked would definitely affect their "grippy-ness" after a full day. I would want a fresh pair for the next day while the other pair dried out. Just my 2 cents.

Something like these are what I have used for pit duties for years. They are so much more durable and fit tighter than the fishing ones. There are a lot of different thickness of diving gloves, but the lightest (2mm I think) are ones are the ones that I like to use. Any dive shop should have a good selection.

Jigging gloves and actually more so popping gloves are very specialized and are neccisary if you plan on being hard core jigging/popping angler. The action of pumping and winding jerk crank style will wear down the skin on your reeling hand and you will need it on your other hand if you are popping or just guiding line

I personally swear by the Zenaq gloves, they are lightweight tight fitting and best of all float. I dropped one of mine while bluefin casting last week and luckily it floated on top becuase of the design

Glenn: How do they run size wise? Im a big guy & I would wear and extra large glove in domestic gloves. I see they size them S,M,L,LL,and LLL. How do they run? If they run small I may need to get the LLL size? thanks

They run small I would get the LLL and wash & dry them a couple of times.
