Best Catch: The next bite on a jig.
Next Gen Spirals

My friends from Down Under put up this picture on a thread for me to see. Cures line pile up on spirals.

Paul, Hope your taking good notes because this is how my rods will be spec'd from now on.

Two alignment guides, two transition guides, then then the underside for the rest of the way down.

I like what I see. Many spiral wrap rods seem to make the transition too quickly.

It seems to me that the kiwi's are a little more advanced in the spirals. Maybe because they are closer to the orient and just communicating the advances? I don't know, but they seem to have more widely embraced the acid style.

its been in this country for almost 100yrs.
i have guys in my rodbuilding club that have been using it. well..A LONG LONG TIME.
i have seen it done and done it. different ways. many different ways.

i dont know if its advanced or just different.

there may be cases where that may not be the "best" setup.

Ouch. For the record, going right was Steve's idea.

I only deferred to the expert.

Anyway it won't matter going forward with the new layout.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're the best. We know everything. I know, I know.

Anyway, Europe is more advanced in jigging than the orient who hire guides to fish stocked farm ponds mostly. OOOOOOO, no he didn't.

I have one of pauls rods and i must say i think his transition seems to be a little nicer then this.. dont know about the twisting problems but i feel that the 2 straight and then the 2 transition would not be as nice as the one i have.. Just my opinion!! but i will that that reel and camo rod setup!! looks freakin awesome! but i will never give up my JPR!! hehe

I would think that with those fast rods you northern guys like, that this would almost static test better.

What do you think Paul? Still love my 200 you made me...for the record.

It looks to me like on that rod you are defeating the purpose of the acid rod, it looks like you would get alot of twist from the first three guilds being on top of the blank. I don't get it or know that much about acid rods though.
