    New toys

I would like to Thank Eastern Tackle for the gear I recieved the other day! I can not wait to see what type of fish the Ayasugi will attract up out of the deep! That is one unique jig and flexable to boot.

I also purchased some Power Jigs. These things look pretty good but I have a question about them. Look at the second pic... the cord that holds the hook looks like it came from a gift shop! The hooks don't even have eyes and are just wraped with that dental floss and are so small.

I want to change out the hooks. Would a split ring and a short strong 3/0 be good? Or would you all use a long J Siwash hook directly to the bottom rung of the jig? A larger hook on an assist cord seem like it would be too long out of the bottom of the jig.

    I got them here:

    http://www.anglerscenter.com/lures_power_jig.htm

They are much cheaper. Mine are the 150g model. They seem very well painted and good quality except for the hooks and assist cords. All of the packaging is written in Chinese.

Sprotfishingusa- I took a look at some earlier post on these board about these jigs. Kil said the finish is just as top quality as the Lucanus and he felt they would be killer Grouper jigs.

I sell JM Dancing jig in 300g and 350g.
JM Dancing jig looks very similar to jigs shown by fman.
I didn't see the jigs shown by fman. So I can not tell the quality of those jigs.
However, I notice that JM Dancing jigs are designed for assist hooks and you can use any size assisit hooks for JM Dancing jig.

Some asked me JM Dancing jigs for offshore seabass, but I told them to buy cheaper hammered diamond jigs instead as I feel hammered diamond jigs work better for offshore seabass.

I am going to test JM Dancing jigs for grouper soon.

    Kil,

I just noticed the ones you have are a different brand than mine but look almost exactly the same. What do you think about putting a split ring and hook on the bottom instead of an assist hook?
