Paul I played with them at Kils shop and really liked the durability (sight unseen/unused) but there are some down sides. KIl put the JM handle on them and it shead off some ozs. and it is still heavy. They are a tight feeling reel like and Avet but they don't bind up as much neither. I purchased one and should have it this week. I am going to load it up with 130 hollow core. I know the reel wil be tough to Japanese style jig but it is doible. I just don't see very dependable alternatives for really big fish. I don't even see myself using this reel around here unless there are definate 200lbers swimming under the boat. It should make an excellent combination bait and jig reel. The drag on this thing is insane.

JB12 holds over 400 yards of JB 130 and still have some room for topshot. I sold two JB 130 two-speed not to jig fishermen, but to bait fishermen.

Paul take it easy on the poor guy. He has to travel to PV and suffer from jet lag. They need to troll the first day!!!!! LOL!!!

I think in time JB will have even a better suited reel for jigging. One of the good thing with his company is that it is garaunteed 2 year free upgrades!!!!! No questions asked if it breaks or needs something better, badder, lighter, then its free. I'm sure he'll even do it after the 2 years for the upgrades. I think he's on to something needed for quite some time now. THere are many good reels for jigging, but not many that can take what this thing can. At least I hope I'm right. It could be junk......but I doubt it.
