Welcome to the board. I've yet to catch a cod so I need to add one to my species list. When can I come up so you can put me on one?

Difficult to say right now Timber. Its a water temp thing and it has been very cold up here this Winter. Water temp is currently holding at 37 degress. Usually about the third week in April, the water temp and Biomass have increased enough to bring in tons of Sand Lances and then we KILL them on Stellwagen Bank. Fish every three minutes for as long as you can stand it. As for taking you out to get some cod, I am always looking for fishing partners so just let me know when you can be up here and we'll do it.

1nsBit - I was kidding, but only halfway. If there ever is a possibility, I'd like to take this further with you and discuss it more in depth.
Mid to late April is trophy striper trolling season down here. Also the C&R shad is happening as well as flounder. I will be fishing a lot in the coming weeks. April, May and June are my most active angling months as I'm out every weekend and some weekdays.

Too late to back out. Already told my wife that I can't be around much for April. Can't let Timber down!!! A promise kept is a promise made and I know she would be disappointed in me if I bailed. Seriously, sounds like some great April fishing you have. Where are you? What is a C&R shad? How big do they get?

C&R = catch and release. There has been a moratorium on hickory and american shad here since the 70s but we can still catch and release for them. They are a lot of fun on light tackle. Some people call them poor man's tarpon. They are usually merely one to three pounds but 100 fish days are not uncommon once the season gets underway in earnest.
