    New JM Jigging Reel

I just got a JM jigging reel today. It 2/0 size tiny reel, but has 27 max drag.
Do you think it is good enough for 200 lbs bluefin ?
I am going to test the reel for bluefin out of Cape May, NJ to see how the reel performs though there are good chances I can fight only 10 seconds due to line capacity problem.

size comparison with Penn Int'l 965

its good enough for a 200 BFT in 200 feet of water and a fast boat, or if you use small enough line. what the holding capacity of line on it?

No, this reel is same size of Avet SX and is good for inshore jigging like AJ or small tuna.
But I am going to try it for normal size tuna in 50 - 70 lbs range as I did before with Everol 6/12 reel.

    Blue Fin?

Going after bft with that is like bear hunting with a switch isn't it. But it sure would be fun for a while.

How does the reel feel? Similar to an accurate?

Surprisingly I can put about 280 yards of OTI Depthfinder 60 lbs.
That is enough line for any tuna under 100 lbs with 18 - 20 lbs drag.
The size is about Avet SX, but there is little binding problem even I use 20 lbs drag at strike and have good freespool. I tried to turn the spool and it is OK, but not to my expectation.

Handle design is vey similar to Blue Heaven reel, and turning of handle is pretty smooth even on 20 lbs drag at strike, but not as smooth as Blue Heaven's. I don't know it is because of brand new or not.

It weighs only 19 oz. I think I can jig with one hand.

ChrisW in NZ gave very good review of the reels when he fished with JM guys for making DVD last week.

I didn't check inside of the reel yet, but It could be similar to Accurate as JM guys loved Accurate reels.

The reel looks nice, and i hope they make one big enough for 80#.
