How do the circle hooks on the jigs work? I've read about it, but never tried it myself.

I was a commercial fisherman from the left coast and kept all my contacts and sell them as pictured for 8.00 each above and I have a bunch more styles . As far as the circle hook go's I like it and it is the law in the GOM fishing for snapper the hookup for me has been great

River2Sea makes those jigs. They are the amoebic jig. If those specific ones aren't made by River2Sea then they are knockoffs.

Actually the law states that using bait(live, dead or cut) the circle hooks are required not on artificial's. But I'm glad to see you are being productive with them

the circles on jigs are very effective

As you can see on this cell video this guy has been experimenting with extra large circles 16/0s & jiggs.
and has been able to score sailfish, white marlin, tons of amberjacks, black fins, kings etc...
and the reason is the structure in the area, they had been losing way to many jiggs due to snags.
It just takes some getting use to it
