    New Jaws Blanks

I'm going to take some pictures of the new Jaws blanks that I got a couple weeks ago. I feel that they are a very competitive company from Japan. I purchased the J7636 which is 7'6" blanks rated 20-40lb. So far I am very impressed with this rod. It is way under weighted as I was fish my BX2 Accurate with 100lb JB braid on it. I fished it up to 25lbs drag. I built it for diamnd jigging tuna as it is very light, sentitive, and strong. I say it is not quite parabolic but it wants to bend like that. Interestly it will also make a great rod for stripers, bottom fishing, what ever. The taper will also make it good for popping and plug swimming.
I bought a short jigging model blank for dad but it is not built yet. It is very similar to a JM blank just a tad faster.

Take a look a them as they priced competitively and should be great for the novice to expert. Pictures on they way this weekend.

I bought them from George at http://thefishingedge.com/Jaws_Rod_Blanks.html
He was very nice and sent me some samples of stuff. Good customer service.

Somewhere there is a thread here about the jaws blank, with testing pics, but I can't find it. I got one right before the rod show.

I haven't done anything with it, but am thinking that i want Paul to build me the ultimate bait rod out of it, because it is so fast. I just don't bait fish enough to spend the money on it.

Maybe a popping rod would be better, but the cost of the premade OTI is so resonable, that i couldn't justify a custom.

I'll be looking forward to your build shots.

Still working on the pics, my camera took the crap.

Anyway I originally placed my order with acidrods but after 3 weeks of waiting and emailing them I finaly cancelled my order with them. They were out of stock and never told me any info. I felt the customer service was poor there. I ordered from George after talking to him on the pohone for 1/2 hr. He had them at my door step in 3 days from Cali. I paid about $20 more with George but the service was superb so well worth it.

Sea Draggin my build was nothing fancy on this rod as I built it in a night for testing and wanted to keep it light as possible. I decided not to underwrap it and see how it does. So far like I said I'm impressed. They would be great for throwing live baits and just about anything. I think these rods will be replacing my Calstars and Seeker type rods that I use for east coast style jigging and baiting the bottom fish.

    Jig42,
I'm sorry to here about the poor customer service you received from C&M custom tackle. In my personnel experience they have provided stellar customer service, with products at very completive prices. Colleen and Julie have always got my orders right the first time and if sometime doesn't look right they fix it before they ship it out the door.
In fact I know they can be slow sometimes with shipping, just recently I order some "Flexcoat Highbuild finish"and the order was delayed for sometime. Colleen send me an email explaining that the order was delayed because the "Flexcoat" was cloudy when she pulled it from the shelf and would send me fresh epoxy as soon as they received a new shipment. She also ask if I wanted the other items shipped out right away and she would ship the flexcoatwhen it arrived separately,I told too ship everything together since I was in no rush. By the way flexcoat has a tendency to get cloudy with age it's no big deal place it in the micro-wave for 15-20 sec's and the cloudiness goes away, since I purchase the finish on sale I thought she did the right thing by giving me fresh flexcoat.wish the Mudehole with do the same. Rich
