    The other qustion is why would you need that much other than maybe pulling a goliath out of the pilons?

    I own the 6000FA model, and it is plastic. I'm not sure about the FB models, But I don't see why anything would be different.

    I just recently purchased a stella thinking i would never pay that much for a spinning reel. That thing is the heat. And i would have been better off if i had just bought the nicer reel to begin with. I experimented with to many cheap reels that overall probably cost more than what a paid for the Stella. You live and learn i guess.
