Southern NC has a short inshore run April/May. My guess is they are heading North, because Northern NC has them year round out in the deep, along the edges where the labrador pushes against the stream.

Almost all the bonito catches were 35 to 55 feet deep.

Great pics and info; thanks. As I recall your mom is a regular on Onslow Beach in the fall and a pretty darned good fisherwoman at that. Must run in the family.

What kind of hooks are you using on the jigs and do you use swivels on the jigs?
