Exclamation my question is in regards to the Trevala series?

I know the most obvious differences in the trevala series between the V and F series as having the different grips and guides but am wondering about the backbone of these rods and how they are different?lets take in example the TVC60H at 6' in length listed at being 169.99 vs A TFC58H 5'8"listed at being 219.99 both being heavy action rods, and are both 09models,what would the true differences be?(no other products involved)Just refering to the trevala series and the trevala series only. Thanks in advance, and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

i dont stock the trevala, and cant get the blanks to compare..
    BUT
like you say with the specs..different guides, and different.lure weights.
    one goes from 160-270g,
the other from 270 to 325g

    without seeing them together.

i would say that the shorter may have a bigger tip size, so that a bigger jig can be used.
which may give it more power..

i hope someone has both and can post a pic of the rod loaded with appox 10# (or whatever).
that would give a great idea of the action and power.

    .
i personally hate the "lifting" tests..
but it is one way to "show" action..
and alot of guys seem to like doing it

it is nice to have all the blanks here to test.
the guys can come and play with them.

    Post Paul.

They are 65-200lb rec line class rods.I would like to see 20-23lbs of drag put on these rods and see how they react.then maybe 16-17lbs which is what I will use while using this rod.For light yellowfin and light bft action!

The action is different. Old model has parabolic action while new model has fast action along with SIC guides.
Shimano decided to go with fast action rod after they heard many complaint line touches hand on foregrip.
I favor parabolic action, but it only applies to fight big fish.

I hope you are not victem of 65-200 lbs rating. I talked with a lodge owner of Panama the other day and told me he bought Trevela rods for his boats last year believing the line rating of 65- 200 lbs and most of Trevala rods were broken now. They must use them for marlin or 200 lbs tuna. I sell Trevala rods. If you want, I'll get 6 rods for your boat.

Post Kil they seemed to make some changes in 09

I dont know what the changes are but am quite sure it was in regards to the old model touching the handle.Thats what I am trying to figure out.I will be up to your shop soon to get my other rod.Be sure to have A 500ready for me! the reason why I ask about the trevala is because, well you know I am true to shimano and I also want A lighter class rod without A gimble. Also it is unfair in Jigging to fight rod in A fighting belt!!lol

with the line touching the handle.
that is just a overloaded rod. the blank was not ment to handle that type of drag,
i think last year they introduced a new model that was more of a faster action, to try to solve the problem.

i like your thinking about no gimbal on rods
    acid wrapped of course
