My next jigging rod - questions about blanks and custom rods

so i am planning on ordering a jigging rod(325g area) after i take delivery on my very first popping rod.

I had heard that Seeker just came out with a new blank - maybe called the Super Seeker, something like that.

Those of you that know rod building and blanks are there any blanks that are leaps and bounds better than the one from Seeker?? I see that Paul uses Seeker blanks so thats a vote for them in itself.

Anyways, i am looking for something to jig the 325g area. Any help or opinions please let me know.

Paul708 - could you PM me pricing on a rod like this. Either the Seeker or an equal or better rod?

Are you looking for just a blank or a finished rod?

The OTI finished rods from Paul are a great next step up from a stock rod. They are extra light weight.

Also, I did a quick look at the seeker and the 8' or 9' rods must be for long range boats or something. Not at all what you need.

the OTI are mid range, in PRICE. but work VERY WELL.

there are some new seeker,,i have not tried.
calstar makes a good blank.
jigging master is another choice.

Trav..we are going with the blank in the video..

looks durable in the video,
parabolic,
handles nice size fish, just over 2 minutes to get that fish in.
easy on the angler.

i personally use these.

and the price is right

yea, the price is definitely right - at that price i couldnt say no!

as you all know, im new to this, so i am going to jig this rod and use it as starting point to order more rods. its going to be my benchmark in this arena

after you try these we can "fine tune" you needs, and if you need to spend more $$ on a rod we can get you setup.

but all money aside, who do you think makes the best jigging blanks out there? if i asked for the best jiggin rod you could make, and said money was not an issue, what kind would you build me?

some guys like parabolic..some guys like faster action.
everyone has their own idea of "the best".
and that changes all the time.

does the best mean flashy metal on rod,that really has no function in catching.

does the best mean that someone in a different country uses and catches fish over there. so its the best here.

does the best blank mean, made in america.
using imported guides/reelseat/grips for the rod.

does the best mean a "system" is needed to jig and catch fish.

does the best mean only limited availability.

does the best mean it weighs 3oz.

does the best mean it dosent ever break.

there are more "does the best mean"


But,i am not sure the fish can tell what blank we use.


but some may say that if you are not using a 40$ Jig.
on a 500 dollar japanese rod you will catch more fish.

IMHO....the best is what my client needs.
what works well,
fits the budget.

i try to get a hold of all the blanks available to test and try.
so we can build what i think is the best..for my client.

some blanks are heavy.
some a are light.
some use different glass for the blanks.
some work for bigger fish.
some for small fish.
