    My new cow jigging setup

    I just got B2 30 from Accurate.
It fit to my 500g custom JM Power Spell rod perfectly.
I'll put 130 lbs JB hollow braided line on it. I am all set for cow jigging.

Kil: That's a great looking set-up. How much drag will you fish on a set up like that?? Have you converted to the Acid wrap concept for all your jigging?

I'll try the setup for both.
I limit the setup upto 30 lbs drag.

    SWEET !

That setup should do some damage to the BFT stocks next year. I can't wait to see the pics of the fish it produces.

    That is an AWESOME setup

Hi Kil, very very nice! Proper Tuna Tamer outfit you have there.

Are you still fishing in Cape Town with Miles this December?

I will be down with Andre and Mark and my Jig Star 450 from ChrisW. The Alutecnos Gorilla 20 arrives on Wednesday. Will thread up with YGK Ultra PE5, and am also hoping for some decent YFT and get stretched.

In the last few weeks I heard that Mark Stotesbury got into some serious YFT around 100kg - serious stuff! They are around, but apparently with all of the bait in the water few and far between.

    Cheers, Roy

Yes, I am standby and is waiting for Miles e-mail to come.
However, it seems yft bites haven't developed yet. I'll wait another week. If yft bites don't start by then, I got to postpone Cape Town trip to next April as I have a vacation trip to Costa Rica with my family during Chiristmas Holidays.

I don't know who started to use PE5 for tuna jigging outside of the US. It seems there are many followers. I don't use under PE8 for tuna jigging. YGK Ultra Jigman claims PE5's breaking point is over 70 lbs. Don't believe it. I lost several nice tuna by believing their claim. It is safe to use PE5 as 50 lbs line. You seldom catch yellowfin tuna below 200 meter, so there is not much advantage to use thinner lines.
