    More jigs!?

Just when you thought Shimano couldn't possibly make any more money selling overpriced jigs... Shimano's new "shallow water series".

Opinions? Besides "other jigs out there do the same thing at half the price!". Hahaha

The next bite on a jig.
I sell a lot of 100g and 150g stuff. Probably more than the big stuff. There are a lot of good small jigs like maria and cripple herring (not to mention bucktails), so I probably won't ever do anything under 100g. I do have some 100g First Drops on the water. But that will probably be as light as I ever go with my selection.

i mean - you cant disregard the lighter stuff (sub 200g). it catches fish. I think shimano just wants a peice of that action. AND shimano rods being the noodles they are, they need more options to match a lot of the rods they put out.

I had thought about that, but you know they will say your going to have the new rod to match the lighter stuff

I would have to agree, especially when you can get an Eastern Tackle jig with a premium hookset right now $5.24 each on sale. Pick and choose what you want.

No offense to the sponsors here, but can you really say you have the same jigs? Does not the shape and weight distribution of the jig have an effect on its action?

I know the last time I was out we could not get bit on the standard Shimano Butterfly jigs. But, when we switched to a different shape (in a no-name brand) we couldn't stop hooking up!

I'm not saying the Shimano jigs are worth the money or not. But the new jigs certainly look different from what is out there now. Will that difference catch more fish? I guess we'll have to see.

Again, this is not meant to offend anyone. It is meant as a sincere observation and question.

He can if he made an exact copy of them. Copying jigs is commonplace in todays world.

I dont know if in fact he did, but thats the only way to have the exact jig
