Met Kilsong at shop

I finally had the chance to drive up and see Kilsong's Jigging SHop. He has alot of tackle to offer for just getting started. I think he is on the right path and has the right ideas for his shop.
We talked a good amount about jigging BFT and GBFT. We share some good ideas and it was interesting to pick his mind. He's a stand up guy and I am pleased to meet him for the first time.
I did get the 500g JM blank and I'm really excited to get testing out this blank. I think the average NJ tuna will be boat side in 5 minutes and be green with this rod. It has very nice power and still bends. THe recoil in the tip is simply amazing!!!
I look forwrd to someday fish together and maybe he'll show me how to catch some Cod in the winter. I never even fished for them before.

You'll have a good time fishing with him. Pay attention to everything as he has alot to teach/offer. Good luck on the trip.
I really like places like KIl's and Paul's because theres not salesman or anyone pushing products. Plus what they sell is what they fish/tested.
I've been doing this for long time now so I know what I want/need but esoecially for a new person getting into the spot you can't beat these to shops.

I hear you. Let me know if you go this year.

I need another rod like a hole in the head but for some reason always find a need for another.

Trav,
I enjoyed spending time with you talking about tackles and fishing.
We should go fishing together soon. Cod fishing is somewhat different from tuna fishing. It takes some time to enjoy cod jigging unlike tuna or AJ jigging, but cod jigging is also very addictive.
When I go up to the Helen H in December, I call you. I'd like to introduce cod jigging to you when it is hot.

Kilsong,
Since grouper will be closed during 1st quarter, what other good jigging opportunities are there for the begining of the year?

Sounds good. I see the reports come from Helen H and they seem to have cod fishing down prety good. I'm assuming its sort of like Tog jigging or Grouper jigging?? I love to seabass jig on some of our tiny little spots we found running to catch tuna. Its saved us on nasty weather day.
