Low budget jigging

I am thinking of getting a set for jigging and another one for popping. I don't have either and I don't have money. I was thinking between rod and reel 300 tops per set.
What do you guys think of a Stradic Reel which I can get used very cheap and a Shimano Trevalla rod which is 120.00. Also what do you think of another stradic also for popping?
Thanks,

Make sure you get the biggest Stradic available. 8000 size. Still not very big though...

Penn 950ssm?

Thought I would toss this into the conversation.
How about Penn 950ssm? Would you replace the drag or modify it in any way?
Line capacity is good and price is affordable.

It would be fine. You don't really need 55 lbs of drag anyways.

The Shimano Spheros is a good budget reel too.

I second the Spheros if you want a spinner. Bulletproof reel and LOTS of drag for the money.

Get a Shimano Spheros, upgrade the drags to Carbontex.
