yea, i dont know what that aussie is talking about....

Having just went out and spent the money i have a few opinions

the Sheros/Saragosa are what you SHOULD get. The saragosa being the better of course. If you can find one used, awesome, have someone who knows em take it apart and you should be good to go.

The Penn reels are pretty awesome for the price. You want a reel that can do EVERYTHING buy the 950ssm. its definately the best option for everything fishing.

the $120 Trevala rods are awesome and will get you started, buy the heaviest one in your price range, youll thank me later.

just so you know, i now have two Trevala rods, stradic 8000, a cabo 80, and will be buying a Penn 950ssm as a back up reel.

just got the saragosa 14000 on a trevala f series rated for up to 100lb braid and i love it great setup. put it to the test yesterday on grouper and ajs and did wonderful!!

I went with a fin nor 9500 for popping with a 15-30 tallus 7'0 500 yards of 80lb braid what do you guys with for the setting?
