    loose rod blank

I have a trolling rod that the blank slides into the reel seat/butt section. The blank is loose and wants to spin. Should I cut the grip off and see if I can remove the blank from the metal part .

    Jeff,
Is the reel seat turning on the blank or is this a slick butt type rod and the plastic butt is turning?

the rod is the type where the blank is fit into a metal piece that slides into the reel seat and is screwed in place. The metal piece that the blank is fit in is covered by the foregrip.

    thanks jeff

Can the metal part (ferrule) come off and just re epoxy it?? The ferrule is pretty short, so it may not be under the foregrip? Got a pic?

A little heat should loosen the ferule, then epoxy it back on. WEST brand 5 minute stuff will work fine.

Thanks for the info guys. I was looking at it yesterday with a friend of mine and we thought that maybe it didn't go up the blank very far and it was loose enough that it could be worked off.

    thanks again jeff
