I had an amazing day today, report to follow. Unfortunately I lost a battle with a 200 plus yellowfin on a popper after 35 minutes and 15 feet within range of the gaff
cant wait to see it.
thanks for this report.
Yesterday I was blessed as well ...
after cruising around offshore for signs of tuna to cast to we ran inshore and I nailed 3 roosters a huge cubera, a mahi and two blue trevallys then ran back offshore and caught as many yellowfin under 50 you could catch
Then 3 of us casted to the spinner dolphins and saw 3 massive blowups. One let go immediately but Bruna from Brazil and I fought two monster cow yellowfins for the better part of 35 minutes. I was down to a 1/4 spool and got the fish back up to color 10 feet under boat when the hook pulled, probably from too much drag. The fish was at least 200
On teh other boat two people fought the same class fish and one was dropped while Sami's fish was missed at gaff and broke loose
Absolutely epic fishing back at it in 15 minutes
damn thats a big cubera!
topwater is too much fun
