I hear there is lots of cobia in the the toilet bowl, that is the man in the brown suit right?
Never said it didn't read bottom...said I don't know if it will read bottom in the deap. (As I also said I was going on someone's else's boat) I was simply asking a question for some help...you never know what you will run into when fishing and it sure sounded like an option if nothing else panned out. Can't catch anything unless you drop down. How many people have dropped down when they weren't marking anything and got bit? I know of many! My sonar works great, just haven't had the chance to test it when I know I'm over something in 500'+.
btw, why make such comments? Did it do anyone any good by making that post?
One more thing...Put down the beer and you will find you can do everything you could do with it...except all the drunken stuff that you regret the next day!

Mitch. I had 3 different sets of numbers and a good bottom machine and looked for it for 45 minutes on really calm day last fall. I didn't have any luck, so I had hoped that someone would chime in who had a good set of numbers.
I think you would be better spending your time to find some deep hard bottom or ledges, than to look for that wreck. Sort of like we did with Patrick. That is going to be my approach if I can get some weather.
Thanks Jim! Makes me feel a little better that we didn't see anything when I looked for it this winter. Once we get the boat back, I'll be ready to go! We didn't do a whole lot yesterday. Two places that had been money all winter were slow...only a couple AJ's and I had 1 grouper bite that came unglued. His bottom machine couldn't read while the engines were in gear so I decided to troll a strong rip instead of fishing blind. We picked at the dolphin all day, none with too much size though.
