alright guys here is the deal. i am not a pro by any means when it comes to jigging. i think i have been lucky to catch most of the fish i have caught while jigging as well. i have fished florida for most of my life but now i am living in ft bragg nc. i finally got my boat project finished and i am confident that it wont break down 20+ miles out. i am looking for a little help when it comes to jigging up here in nc though. mainly off of wrightsville since that is the closest boat ramp to me. i like to jig when i fish for the most part but sometimes i will use live baits or dead ones if i have to. this is the reason i am posting here though... i got shot in afghanistan in september and had to come back early from the deployment. all my buddies on the team i was on stayed in country until about a week ago, thats when the rest of my team got back. i want to take a few of them fishing on my boat this weekend but i have no idea where to start. every time i go offshore around wrightsville i get skunked and i don't want that to happen this time. (skunked meaning we catch really small togs and dogfish all day). i want to go out there and let these guys catch some big fish! one of the guys that is coming fishing this weekend actually helped save my life so i really want to get him on the fish. im not looking for secret spots or anything but maybe a guideline on where i should start looking for the big guys. what type of structure whether it is scattered rock bottom or big ledges ya know? anyways, my overall goal is to put my boys on some fish this weekend as long as the weather is decent. i will be jigging for most of the day but the guys i am taking fishing will most likely be using dead bait or liveys if we can find em since they dont fish very often. thanks in advance for any advice given fellas!!!
