OH, he'll post for sure... Ken
I landed a 27.70 lbs marbled grouper on a 8 oz hammered diamond jig on the recent 76 hour Big E trip out of Freeport, TX. The current record is 27.65 lbs which is also IGFA world record fish. Even I am qualified for new state record, I am not qualified for IGFA record as I used the rail briefly while fighting the fish.
We caught lots of nice grouper and red snappers daytime and it was all tuna jigging/popping at night.
Here are pictures of yellowfin tuna caught three different popping lures on the first night.

Well, I guess I just learned something here. I really thought tuna were strictly a daytime fish. I thought they were purely a site fish. What was the light in the area like?
Everyone should be familiar with this post I put up. You never know when your next bite will be a record and worth some good sponsorships.
